Ola Niepsuj Biography

Ola Niepsuj is a Warsaw based illustrator and graphic designer. She graduated from the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, meanwhile studied at Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Matosinhos, Portugal and Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, Portugal.

Niepsuj designs posters, visual identities and infographics, while her illustrated comments have found their way into various Polish and international magazines, books, textbooks and children’s publications. Ola combines collage, pencil, ink and paints with digital media, to create her humorous and idiosyncratic images. She worked with companies such as Nike, Converse, Braun, HBO and Apple Polska. Niepsuj created illustrations for the Swiss literature festival Babel, the New York City-based independent theatre festival Undergroundzero and the Portuguese Guimarães Jazz Festival.

Her works were displayed on numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad including Japan, France, Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Bolivia, Cuba and the United States and has been awarded with many art and design related grants and awards (her illustrations were chosen three times to appear in the American Illustration Annual and she received a Society of Illustrators Silver Medal).
