Margherita Caspani Biography

Margherita Caspani was born in Milan on a mid-August evening in 1999. Not long after, she began drawing, mostly ducks in flight.

Today, Margherita works as a freelance illustrator. After graduating with honors in Illustration and Animation from IED Milan, her illustrations have received international awards such as two World Illustration Awards and two Awards of Excellence from Communication Arts in California. In 2025, she received a Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators in New York.

Every now and then, she still draws ducks in flight.

Her projects mainly include editorial work and collaborations with brands. Among her clients are Apple, Uniqlo, and leading Italian newspapers. Since 2023, she has been a university lecturer at IED Milan.

Besides drawing, Margherita is an interior design enthusiast who loves crafting her own unusual objects. She also loves plants, but their survival rate is so low she decided to just keep drawing them. She won’t pick a favorite color not to offend the others, but her whole house is red.

Sometimes people describe her inner world as dreamlike but gently ironic: her job is all about drawing it.
